In this class brief, you are asked to write an essay on the role of architecture in shaping, preserving our heritage and identity and how it relates to space and time. Consider these two questions as guidelines to the essay.

1. Do you believe architecture relates to our identity and heritage including our origin? Describe this through a use of a timeline and include images, diagrams, sketches, text, and references

2. How has it shaped our spiritual/cultural/political space? Identity two buildings (one local and one international) that best support your answer. Include text, sketches, and references.

Your response should include an analytical critique of these questions, drawing on relevant literature and/or case studies. Please provide evidence to support your positions and cite relevant sources.
