Write a short essay of two-and-a-half pages in which you convey the importance of good academic writing. Your answer should not be shorter than 1 200 words and should not exceed 1 500 words.

The marker will take the following into account – see the mark allocation:

1. A good and concise introduction. (3 marks)
2. A body that argues, clarifies and explains the different aspects of good academic writing and their importance. (8 marks)
3. A body that also briefly discusses the consequences of bad academic writing. (8 marks)
4. A conclusion that is concise and that draws everything together. (3 marks)
5. Good academic writing (grammar and language) is demonstrated, and the essay has been properly edited. (6 marks)
6. References have been added where needed. The discussion is in the
student’s own words. (2 mark)
